Giant Desktop Buzz Wire Hire and Rental


Altitude Events are based on the Surrey/Sussex border but our Giant Buzz Wires are available for hire to venues and events throughout East Sussex, West Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, Essex, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and London.  Altitude Events have 3 versions and 2 sizes of Buzzwires available to hire – 2 large free-standing ones known as Beat the Bleep and a smaller tabletop or desktop version.

The smaller desktop/tabletop Giant Buzz Wire is 4ft long and 2ft high and this Giant Buzzwire can be set up on any table, picnic bench, etc to play.  Players must try and get the wand from one end of the metal frame to the other without the dreaded buzzer going off!  How steady are your hands…  Our Tabletop Giant Buzzwire hire is perfect for Corporate Events, Team Builds, Exhibition Stands, School Fetes, Evening Events and Private Parties alike, there are just so many possible uses for this traditional and popular game.

This Desktop Giant Buzzwire is battery powered so it can be used anywhere – indoors or outside (must be set up undercover though if it’s raining).  Giant Buzz Wires have no age limits either, provided the children are tall enough to hold the wand and reach the tops of the metal frame then they can give it a try.

All Giant Buzzwire hire packages include £10 million PLI and risk assessments.

Please note that we have a minimum hire fee of £400 + VAT so we usually only hire these games as part of packages rather than individually.

The Desktop Buzzwire is a one-player game.

Can anyone use the Desktop Buzzwire?

Players must be tall enough to play.  Anyone deemed to be in an ‘unfit’ state to play due to the influence of alcohol or drugs may be refused on.

What you need

Can the Desktop Buzzwire be used outside?

Yes, it can be providing it is under a gazebo to protect it from the weather.

Can the Desktop Buzzwire be used indoors?

The Desktop Buzzwire is suitable for Indoor events. Please see specifications tab for unit and space dimensions.  The unit is large and awkward to carry so please let us know whether there are long distances to carry it or any steps/stairs/lifts/doorways etc to navigate with the equipment as complicated setup routes may increase set up time or require additional staff which will increase the hire costs.

Does the Desktop Buzzwire require a power supply?

No, the Desktop Buzzwire is battery powered.

Do I need to supply anything or does the Desktop Buzzwire come with everything it needs?

Other than providing an area to set up on, we supply everything required to run the game, including the scoreboard, cables and operator.

How long does the Desktop Buzzwire take to set up?

Depending on the ease of access, the Desktop Buzzwire will take our staff approximately 15mins to set up.


Does the Desktop Buzzwire come with someone to run the activity?

Yes, our staff (CRB/DBS checked and 1st aid trained) will remain with the game throughout your event. They will give all players a briefing of how the game works and run each game for you, recording scores where necessary.

How safe is the Desktop Buzzwire?

Sessions are run by fully trained, experienced staff member (staff are first aid trained and CRB/DBS checked). We also operate with £10 million public liability insurance and have full risk assessments (copies of which are available on request). All electrical items are PAT tested for electrical safety.


How much does it cost to hire the Desktop Buzzwire?

We will tailor-make each Desktop Buzzwire hire quote to the specifics of an enquiry. The Desktop Buzzwire hire cost is dependent on factors such as your location, length of hire, date of hire and whether or not any other pieces of equipment are being hired for the same event, etc.

Are there any additional costs?

The quote we send to you is all-inclusive so there are no hidden extras to be wary of.

How do I book?

Give us a call or send an e-mail and we can check your desired date(s) for availability and give you a quote. When you are ready to confirm, we will send out a booking form, complete with the booking terms and conditions to check over. Once filled in, please return it to us along with payment.  We take a 25% deposit to secure a booking date and the balance is due 1 month before the hire date. Then sit back and count down the days until we arrive!

Are there options to customize our hire to advertise a product or event?

Staff uniform can certainly be tailored to advertise a chosen product or event and if you do have any other specific ideas please do get in touch and we can see how we can help!

How far will Altitude travel for an event?

Although we are based in the South East, we will travel anywhere to do an event.  However, if it is very far from our base, the price will reflect this. Primarily our Desktop Buzzwire attends events held in East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Berkshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London.  Please contact us for further information if this is something that you would be interested in.
