Max Kats are a quirky six-wheel-drive amphibious vehicle which is tiller steered. Drivers will sit alongside an instructor and manoeuvre the vehicle around a course! Once you’ve mastered the fairly simple controls, Max Kats can take on any 4×4 course as they love tough terrain! They do even float so dealing with some water will not be an issue!
As with all of our Motorised Activities, our Max Kat Hire service includes clean modern helmets for all drivers, fully trained instructors, a mini marquee, bunting, chairs and everything else needed to form a track. For safety reasons, as with all of our Motorised Activities, we do not allow any form of side by side racing during Max Kat rentals. The minimum driving age on the Max Kats is 18yrs (or 17yrs with a driving licence). As with all of our other activities, our Max Kat hire package is run under a £10 million PLI policy with full risk assessments.
Based out of our base on the Surrey/Sussex border, our Max Kats are available for hire to venues and events throughout the Southeast (West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire) and further afield. Our instructors will firstly give a short safety briefing to every driver. Most people pick the Max Kats up very quickly and are soon confident on them within 5 minutes. A lot will depend on how quickly you get used to the steering and get your confidence up.
The Max Kats are reasonably fast, the steering is the unique element with the off-roading! We will often set the courses up to concentrate more on manoeuvring rather than just going fast as anyone can go fast in a straight line!
Max Kats have a minimum driver age of 17 years (with a driving license). No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs is allowed to use the Max Kats. If anyone has any health problems or current injuries including pregnancy or bad backs then they should not take part in the Max Kats sessions.
Max Kats have proved to be a hit on Corporate Team Building Days, Family Fun Days, Staff Reward Days, Multi-Activity Away Days, Private Parties, Stag/Hen Activity Days, TV shows, etc.
All of our drivers and passengers are kitted out with top quality open face safety helmets and the Max Kats are kept clean and presentable. There is no Altitude branding on the buggies so they are perfect for use on Corporate Events. Max Kat hires also come with a mini marquee, bunting, courses, chairs and everything else required to operate on an event.
During every session, we run there will be an experienced instructor on hand to offer advice and guidance to all drivers on how to handle the Max Kats.
Session content varies according to a whole host of variables (size of the group, age of group, the reason for booking, duration of booking, etc) and can be tailor-made to suit your requirements. Sessions can be run to focus on team development and communication or just as a fun blast around a field in something a bit different! We have venues across the Southeast and further afield that we can use Max Kats at so please contact us for details of these if you do not already have a suitable venue in mind.
Whatever you want although dresses and skirts are not advisable! We would suggest old clothes as you may get dusty in the Summer or muddy in the Winter.
We will operate accordingly to space on offer but we would like an open area of flattish grass at least 4 acres, but the more space you can provide the better! This space must be free from obstacles such as ditches, trees, poles, etc and with short cut grass.
Max Kat sessions are run by fully trained, 1st aid qualified and experienced instructors. Max Kat hire packages include the mandatory use of helmets and seatbelts which are worn by all drivers. We also operate with £10 million public liability insurance and have full risk assessments.
The Max Kats are fully waterproof and can be used all year round. However, should it be very wet, prepare for your field (and your guests!) to get a little muddy!

Everything will be included in our quote – Max Kat hire, petrol, delivery, staffing, safety kit hire and insurance. There will be no hidden extras.

Although we are based in the South East, we will travel anywhere to do an event. However, if it is very far from our base, the price will reflect this. Primarily our Max Kats attend events in East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Berkshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London.
