Powerturn Off Road Buggy Hire and Rental


Powerturn Buggies are twin-engined twin-seater off-road buggies, which are fantastic fun and suitable for a whole range of events. The unique driving style of the 6 wheeled Powerturn uses joysticks for steering and acceleration instead of a steering wheel and pedals. You will find that Powerturn wheelies under acceleration are commonplace bringing a smile to everyone’s face!

The Powerturns are controlled like a tank using skid steer steering so that they can turn tightly on the spot. With a separate control joystick working each engine they are simple to use and totally different to most other off-road buggies out there today. This means that Power Turns can be driven by a pair of drivers using a control lever each which is perfect for team building days where communication is the key. The Powerturn Buggies can be driven by anyone over the age of 16 and we can also take over 12’s out in them for passenger rides. Check out the gallery for more pictures of Powerturns in action.

As with all of our motorised activities, our Powerturn buggy hire service includes modern and clean helmets for all drivers, fully trained instructors, mini marquee, bunting, chairs and everything else needed to form a track. All activities are run under our £10 million PLI policy with full risk assessments. To run a pair of Powerturn Buggies we require 250′ x 329’/75m x 100m of flat short cut grass with no obstructions that can be hit.

Altitude Events is based on the Surrey/Sussex border in the Southeast and the Powerturns regularly attend events in East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Essex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and London as well as travelling further afield. Powerturns are one of our most popular Motorised Activities that are suitable for hire for Corporate Events such as Multi Activity Away Days, Company Team Building Days, Driving Experience Days and Family Fundays.

About the Powerturns

How easy are Powerturns to use?

Our instructors will firstly give a short safety briefing to every driver.  Most people pick the Powerturns up very quickly and are soon confident on them within 5 minutes.  A lot will depend on how well you communicate with the other driver and how much of your communication degenerates into giggles and hysterical laughter!?

How fast do Power Turns go?

The Powerturn Buggies are capable of going 30mph but we will often set the courses up to concentrate more on manoeuvring rather than just going fast as anyone can go fast in a straight line!

Can anyone drive a Powerturn?

Powerturns have a minimum driver age of 16 years but our instructors can give passenger rides to anyone over 12yrs old.  No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs is allowed to use the Powerturns. If anyone has any health problems or current injuries including pregnancy or bad backs then they should not take part in the Powerturn sessions.

What sort of events have the Powerturns been used for?

Powerturn Buggies have proved to be a hit on Corporate Team Building Days, Family Fun Days, Staff Reward Days, Multi Activity Away Days, Private Parties, Stag/Hen Activity Days, TV shows, etc.

Our Kit

All of our drivers and passengers are kitted out with top quality open face safety helmets and the Powerturns are kept clean and presentable.  There is no Altitude branding on the buggies so they are perfect for use on Corporate Events.  Powerturn Buggy hires also come with a mini marquee, bunting, courses, chairs and everything else required to operate on an event.

Experienced instructor

During every session we run there will be an experienced instructor on hand to offer advice and guidance to all drivers on how to handle the Powerturns.

Tailor made sessions

Session content varies according to a whole host of variables (size of group, age of group, reason for booking, duration of booking, etc) and can be tailor made to suit your requirements. Sessions can be run to focus on team development and communication or just as a fun blast around a field in something a bit different! So, give us a call and we can come up with a plan that meets all your aims and expectations.

What you need

What should I wear?

Whatever you want although dresses and skirts are not advisable!  We would suggest old clothes as you may get dusty in the Summer or muddy in the Winter.

How much space do I require to operate the Powerturns?

We will operate accordingly to the space on offer but we would like an open area of flattish grass at least 100m x 50m, but the more space you can provide the better!  This space must be free from obstacles such as ditches, trees, poles, etc and with short cut grass.


How safe is it?

Powerturn sessions are run by fully trained, 1st aid qualified and experienced instructors. Powerturn hire packages include the mandatory use of helmets and 4 point (over shoulders and around waist) seatbelts which are worn by all drivers and passengers.  We also operate with £10 million public liability insurance and have full risk assessments.

Does the weather affect the Powerturns?

The Powerturns are fully waterproof and can be used all year round.  However, should it be very wet, prepare for your field (and your guests!) to get a little muddy!


How much do Powerturns cost to hire?

We will quote according to your requirements as every event is so different, please contact us for a competitive quote.  Location, running time and type of useage will all affect the final quote.

Do we have to pay anything else?

Everything will be included in our quote – Powerturn hire, petrol, delivery, staffing, safety kit hire and insurance.  There will be no hidden extras.

How do I book?

Give us a call or send an e-mail and we can check your desired date(s) for availability and give you a quote. When you are ready to confirm, we will send out a booking form complete with the booking terms and conditions to check over. Once filled in, please return it to us along with payment. Then sit back and count down the days until we arrive!

Are there options to customize our hire to advertise a product or event?

Staff uniform can be tailored to advertise a chosen product or event.

How far will Altitude travel for an event?

Although we are based in the South East, we will travel anywhere to do an event.  However, if it is very far from our base, the price will reflect this.  Primarily our Power Turns attend events in East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Berkshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London.  Please contact us for further information if this is something that you would be interested in.
